In Vatican city, the church is the state. Outside that, they can have their courts but all they can do is excommunicate. You could have a similar court if you wanted. That is my point Andy. If the church allowed for a married clergy this child raping would sease to to be the global power, but changing the attitude of the Catholic Church, which Benedict could do in 5 minutes with signed order would be convincing Quebec to become civilized and speak English.

IMO, it doesn't matter whether a perv is married or not. Marc Dutroux was married. I am sure more kiddie diddlers are married. I was going to say "most", but I can't back it up with stats.

I generally do not weigh in on Roman Catholic Church matters but the fact of the matter is that they have the right to run their church as they see fit so long as it has no effect on non-Catholics and so long as it does not violate the applicable laws of the various countries in which they operate.
