He missed the deadline BY SEVEN months but it was a mistake so he should get off. I missed the filing date for my taxes once, it was an honest mistake but I still have to pay even though I'm not a burden to society like this guy. I got a speeding ticket in my first week in a new city because I missed the speed sign and made a mistake assuming what the speed was, I still got a ticket and paid it. Mr. Guettaoui was found with forged legal documents and awarded with a life in Canada and no charges. Well hes got me their I've never done that but I'm sure if I did I'd get a criminal record if caught. We gave him a pass on a crime and awarded him, how many does he think he gets?

He wants to live like a Canadian then he gets to bare responsibility for his mistakes like the rest of us. I know were I won't be going over here for a hair cut. If he messd it up he'd likely blame it on me.

There are a couple of things that bother me.
How can you own a shop on a work permit?
Don't you have to renew your wp ever year?
Why would you get refugee status, coming from France?
If you usually only have to "show your wp and pay the fee", what is the use of it anyway?

I know little about work permits but the likely reason he was in France was becuase he went there first to escape his homeland persecution and iether always intened to eventually come here or wore out his welcome in France and was ordered back home, so he then fled here.

Does seem strange he got a work visa yet he owns a business since to get a work visa you need paperwork from and established employer who agrees to hire you. Maybe he had that at first then started his business and CIC was ok with that?

Yeah, the story says he want from Algeria to Italy to France, and then to Canada to claim refugee status on a false passport, "but revealed his real identity". Then he got a work permit (based on what??). He should have been denied, sent back to Europe and claim refuge there...

I dunno, methinks immigration f*cked this one up real bad...
