The one thing people always forget; sure in the summer you can bike where you want, but Canada is 2 months summer 10 months winter. And our winters are COLD

That's true. So we should remember to take advantage of the weather during those two months, rather than continue with our usual, winter routine. :)

I live in Vancouver - not too cold at all. I was ready to buy studded tires after last year, but this winter didn't need them. There are people all over Canada who bike all year, it's really no different than cross country skiing. You just need the right equipment. And drivers who know how to drive on ice, which Vancouver drivers definitely don't.

Right on. And for anyone not from Warmcouver, getting studded tires for your winter riding is an excellent idea.
