I would like to punch the dentist in the mouth that put these fillings in my mouth. Trust for a position of authority has never turned out to be a good thing.

Mercury in an amalgam filling is not a threat to you because the mercury is amalgamated with silver or another bonding agent. You have to heat the amalgam to far higher than body temperature in order to release the mercury.

Your original dentist did you no harm.

But whoever is trying to convince you to replace a moutful of perfectly fine fillings should be reported to the proper authorities.
