The Vatican has been doing "damage control" over this issue for decades. In other countries these activities would be considered obstruction of justice or at best stone walling. They are pretty good at it they've been doing it for centuries.

Yea,

Pathetic. We have a top cardinal saying that it's all the fault of homosexuals.

Into the 1950's with the Vatican All-Stars.

Whether they are gay or nor the point is that the Vatican has been stonewalling investigations for centuries. In the old say one would say "out of respect for the church.."

These days we moved behind this garbage and now it's the evidence is under lock and key and diplomatic immunity so we we will still stone wall you while while making cosmetic changes.

It still doesn't make a damn bit of difference and what this article talks about changes nothing. The Church is still concerned with its image more than the young boys it's supposed to protect. They're still trying to make sure that the Church doesn't look like it aids and abets pedophiles (which it does) instead of punishing those responsible and taking steps to ensure this doesn't happen anymore.

I think Christopher Hitchens said it best a few weeks agon on Bill Maher: the Pope should be treated as a protector of criminals and convicted as such; his travel as a head of state restricted as well.
