Hmm school is supposed to help prepare kids for real life. There is rejection in real life all around us. I guess school is not doing its job then.
I know I know, big revelation. No shock at all when many schools are adopting no fail policies, officially or unofficially.
Guess what, in the grown up world if you suck at your job you get canned and any companies not cleaning house of dead weight because they don't want to make people feel bad by canning them are going under.
It's really starting to look like private school for our kids, even if its pricey.

No shit eh? Lack of rejection and failure as a child is just as bad as too much.
I remember in elementary school that we would all decorate our own "mailbox" to put on our desks then everyone in the class would walk around and deliver their cards. I think we had to wait until evreyone was done before we could open our mailboxes. I'm pretty sure that everyone gave everyone else in the classroom a card, but if not I don't recall there being a big deal about it. For kids Valentines Day is just another occasion for "special" candy and to make stuff with paper and glue.
