The hit was pretty ugly, but what was Kennedy doing? He put himself in a very vulnerable position and, by that point, there wasn't anywhere else for Kassian to go. Kinda reminds me of the hit on Ben Fanelli of the Kitchener Rangers earlier this season. Yeah, the checker must always be able to avoid contact if the target becomes defenseless, but it was about to be a clean hit until the target made himself vulnerable at the last second.
Good thing for the Petes that this didn't happen two weeks ago.
