Good Morning Councilor Parrish

Let me begin by saying thank you for dining with us at Aielli in Port Credit on Thursday December 3rd, 2009.

A matter was brought to my attention by my general manager and your server Deborah Porretta that during your exit from my restaurant after dinner you had noticed and viewed a poster on our inside window advertising a public support rally for our Mayor "The Honorable Hazel McCallion".

You walked out the front door and with in seconds came back in and you decided to remove the poster from my window and tore it into pieces and with a grin on your face threw the pieces on the lobby carpet in front of Deborah and one of your dinner guests. You left the restaurant and left the "now" littered poster on my carpet.

Mrs. Porretta which has been employed with my restaurant for over 17 years and has over 28 years of food and hospitality experience witnessed the unimaginable behavior of a City of Mississauga councilor.She brought the torn pieces of the poster to me in my kitchen and explained to me what happened.

I went outside to see if you were still nearby to discuss with you your actions, but you had left. In all my 33 years in the Port Credit area I have never witnessed or heard of any councilor being out of line in my restaurant, and trust me I have met many!

I kept the torn poster pieces as a souvenir to remind me of this inexcusable behavior by a publicly elected official. This demonstrates disrespect for my establishment and my staff. I hope that you consider better behavior in public appearances in the future.

You are absolutely correct.

What began as a bit of a dare and a prank, it retrospect was poor judgement on my part. I sincerely apologize to you for my inexcusable bahaviour.
