It's too bad we can't come up with the technology to set them of prematurely. Like when the pricks are hiding them.

The technology does exist for remote control ieds but obviously this is no good for the other types.

Its better to recover an IED and exploit it for evidence. If you can find out who is planting them or even better who is teaching others how to make them you can stop it at the source. It takes longer to train a new bomber than to plant another IED.
