Whats the worse tragedy here?
That a shop can't have a radio without a royalty license or that this woman can't sing a tune while she works.

She was clearly pirating music without paying the proper dues to the artist. Artists and songwriters need to earn an income too!

An employee who is so happy to be there should not be fined for singing.

Can you imagine how bad things would have become if it was taken to court and the PRS won? It would have given the power to fine anyone who was singing to themselves in public or performaning for the public for free.

It would be dark days indeed and would be just another nail in the coffin by corporate greed over personal freedom.

Did you know the Canadian band "The Kings" had their Youtube video they created of their hit "The Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide" pulled. It was pulled by Youtube by request of their old ex-record company which says they own the rights to the song the band wrote and performed.

Collecting royalties is just another fancy way of saying "money for the record corporation".

Wait till 'Son of DMCA', the ACTA is implemented. Then you can get your Internet access pulled because they think you downloaded a song.

So much for the Free exchange of information.
It's even to the point where they are shutting down sites that I use to get guitar transcriptions off of, these are created by users and posted so others can learn to play the songs.
What's next, are they going to knok on my door cause someone heard me playing Hotel California on my guitar.
