I agree. A high priced luxury car isn't exactly what I'd be bringing to market right now, expecially for a new brand.
Well, its not til 2012 so hopefully the economy won't still be in the shitter.
Some lines from the article I wonder if anyone more knowledgable on cars can fill me in on:
$1:
Shepard described the [169] as a "heads-up" luxury competitor to such brands as Acura, Volvo and Lincoln, and it can undercut traditional luxury brands including Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
So that's complete bullshit, or is the 169 a star in an otherwise lack-luster fleet of vehicles?
$1:
Chrysler had planned on building a new 200C vehicle in Brampton, which it unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January. But Shepard noted that model will be modified to become the production version of the Alfa Romeo 169.
Does this suggest that the 169 to be made here in 2012 will be all-new rather than just the next year's version? IS there any scoop on the 200C?
On a related topic,
THIS ARTICLE suggests there could be a whole host of Chrysler and Fiat units built in Brampton and Windsor for export to Europe
