yeah, I like Bill and all but that's just a bit much. Honourary degrees are pointless enough, why make a mockery of the Navy.

There are a tonne of Honourary Colonels in the army and air force, even Ron McLean is one, so why not William Shatner? Not that I am a fan of him, but seriously why not?

Reagan was an actor and became Commander in Chief of the whole US military. Michaelle Jean is a journalist and also commander in chief. Why not an honourable grade for Shatner ?
