Were I live these dinks ride in packs two to three abreast on their 10K bikes and aerodynamic g-string get ups. You either have to wait until the opposite lane is free to pass them, or if its a double lane have to move to the other lane. I'm a cyclist as well, but I know against a two ton vehicle I'll never come out the winner and stay to the side, bike through potholes etc. Not long ago this happened http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/accus ... story.html

.. and it's just going to get worst.. $1: Gregor Robertson appealed to Critical Mass to help him get elected, took part in rides Vancouver SunJuly 31, 2009
Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson has been pilloried in some quarters for failing to stop tonight's planned Critical Mass ride through Vancouver to "celebrate bike lanes."
But newly received imagery shows the mayor took part in a Critical Mass ride last August and also addressed the rally in April of 2008, asking for help to get elected Mayor.
Earlier this week, the mayor said it was difficult to find the organizers of the event, but as a potential Vision nominee, he was able to easily make his pitch to the bike-friendly crowd.
A partial transcript of his speech to the April 2008 Critical Mass rally follows:
"I'm hoping to be the next Mayor of Vancouver. I would describe myself in addition to being a so-called politician, as being a hardcore cyclist."
"I think it's about time Vancouver became the most bicycle-friendly city in North America, the first step to do that is to have dedicated bike lanes, without cars on them, all over the city."
"This is part of my plan to introduce in to City Hall of Vancouver, that is if I can get myself elected, I would love to have your help in doing so. If you feel like getting political you can support me in the Vision Vancouver nomination race, and that election is on June the 15th. You've gotta be a member of Vision by May the 15th. If you want to do that, there are people with clipboards around here."
"I look forward to serving you as Mayor and making sure this city turns itself around and becomes a bicycle capitol of Canada." http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/Greg ... l#Comments

That's the first step alright.... in destroying the economy of the city, no delivery service, no UPS, businesses and restaurants will have to get their supplies biked in, retail will take a nose dive. Fine if this people want to revert back to the late 1800's but why take the rest of us with them.

There is nothing wrong with cycling,it's green, it's healty, and there should be dedicated lanes about 1 metre wide so cyclists stay off the sidewalk. As a driver, I know that more cyclists also need to obey the rules of the road as if they were in a car as that would stop a lot of accidents.

People should have dumped handfuls of caltrops in front of the VAG and that would have been the end of it right there.

It's this mafia that prevents the addoption of bicycle licences and ensures that bicyclists can't be identified or ticketed for their traffic infractions. If Car or motorcycle people did something like that, they'd have their plate numbers harvested and they'd all be ticketed.

As a driver, I know that more cyclists also need to obey the rules of the road as if they were in a car as that would stop a lot of accidents. I agree, but they want streets just for cyclists. City council in Ottawa mulled over the idea of banning vehicles on the market. The market is full of restaruants, bars & shops. Then they quickly realized with out vehicular traffic allowed these businesses wouldn't last 6 months. I saw one dolt in his 10k bike in rush hour traffic slowing down a bus and all of the traffic behind the bus on wellington st, because he was on his way to the gatineau hills and didn't want to ruin his 1K rims by biking near the side of the road and cycling through potholes. The bus driver, with a packed bus of commuters leaned on the horn to get him to move over, he simply turned around and gave him the finger. Theres alot of them like that. Me-me-me.

It is my opinion that we can eliminate most bad cyclists when we introduce bicycle friendly policies and infrastructure.

They're are as dangerous on bikes as they are on motorized transport here, and we have dedicated scooter/bike lanes here on most roads. Then again, the jerkoffs in cars treat these lanes as a parking lane.

martin14 martin14: share the road ?
till then, fuck off and stay on the right side where you belong. Hmmm, interesting. I feel the same way about 90% of motorcyclists...especially those dinks on Harleys who insist on gunning the engine every 10 seconds.

Actually gunning the throttle more than once every 30 seconds is just showing off!
