It was a doozy. I heard thunder for hours which I haven't experienced since I was in Kansas....and Paraguay.

That's about the way it looked in New West......then 3 1/2 hours with no power, but ya, best storm we've had in years.

It was awesome! The bit of rain that fell felt wonderful to stand in after being so hot all day. Great show by nature and fortunately no local forest fires started by lightening strikes.

Couldn't agree more. That rain was a godsend. Sadly, 24 hours later it's back to hot and humid.

That video is awesome...I love watching big storms.

We haven't had any good ones this year which sucks....they always happen in the very early morning.

Usually in the mid-west we will have about 2-3 tornado warnings a month from April-August. I think we only had 2 at the most so far all year.

You get storms like that all of the time on the prairies. Everything is still and then the lightning starts, didn't always get rain either, but when it came, it dropped the temperature a good 10 degrees in minutes. Over here most of the lightning is sheet lightning, although you can some pretty spectacular strikes on the high rises. The rain is what is amazing as it sometimes causes whiteouts. No wind, but sheets and sheets of heavy, warm rain.

I was at the Beach all day at the Spanish Banks, all afternoon we could see dark clouds gathering over downtown. We were hundreds of meters in the water offshore when I saw 3 lightning strikes go right over downtown.

Kinda ruined out beach fun, the rain soon reached us. We went out for dinner on 4th and afterward it was pouring after wards and we were many blocks away from our car. It was fun walking down the street in the warm rain, we hardly ever get rain that warn here. And the sky to the west was the most crazy orange I've ever seen.

Even Victoria found it pretty nasty. Lots of rain (which dried up quickly yesterday) and the reddest sky I've seen here in years.

Why not try clicking on the weather icon on the Home page? Pick the city you want and all the weather information is right there. Or install the CKA toolbar which has the same features plus a whole bunch of extras.

We were out in the Fraser Valley and it was a continous rumble of thunder. I honestly can't remember the last time that happened. My brother in Abbotsford said his outside thermometer hit 100F this afternoon. I guess it'll be even worse tomorrow.
