The fact that the RCMP is excluded by this makes it a joke for BC.

The new breed of cop needs the tazer. Not because the criminals are tougher , but because they are both physically and mentally weaker ....... The police forces know that but wont admit to it.... I have been told this by friends that have retired from the rcmp ,But of course some people will just say I am a cop hater and put their head back into the sand..........

I agree. Opening it up to anything other than huge men leaves them vulnerable.
The tazer is a good tool but it's been sold like an harmlless, markless way to make people comply. I think Tazer International gave the cops exactly what they wanted instead of the cops figuring out what they needed instead.

Ok. You're a cop hater and I'll put my head back in the sand.

The Taser is a valid tool for the police to have. In the vast majority of cases it's been a non lethal effective means to subdue an out of control person. Take it away and you’re back to the truncheon or the gun. Neither of those is a better alternative to the Taser.
