Good for Pakistan. Nice to see they learned who's side their on.
I wonder what sort of behind the curtain, arm twisting was needed.

Pakistan is a civil war waiting to happen.
Many of the more democratic views are from the Muslim Indians, and their descendants who moved to Pakistan during independence and partition.

The tribal factions in the east have always been a source of a medieval branch of Islam and these guys have little respect for anything that resembles modern thinking.

These two sides are on a collision course and Pakistan has a few nukes......not a good situation.

So it's an urban/rural split as in China and so many other places. Pitty that the wack-job rural factions are the ones closest to Afghanistan.

A few of the whack-jobs are in the ISI, the Pakistani secret police/intelligence.

I don't see a happy outcome out there.

That's why I was wondering what sort of arm twisting was going on. Maybe those preditor air-strikes were going to start moving up the food chain and take out those inteligence leaders. I can't imagine the Obama government admitting that.

Pakistan is telling the west what it wants to hear while at the same time providing support for the Taliban. This is the country that will eventually provide that Islamic nuke that Washington and the West is so afraid of and I don’t see any way to stop that from happening. Whether it happens behind the scenes or as a result of a civil war (which is very likely), it’s going to happen.
