This author is doing what everyone in Calgary is doing. This acton of painting the whole neighborhood of Braeside as Yokels and intolerant based on the actions of 2 or 3 people is exactly the type of behavior that he is tying to speak out against, perhaps he should look in the mirror and ask himself if he is any better a person than those he condems in his article, I've emailed him to tell him such.

There's a lot of ignorance around the subject of not just meth clinics but additions in general. People are afraid of what they don't know, it's just human nature. I don't agree that a meth clinic is a ovely bad thing but would I want one opening down the block from my house, in all honesty probably not.

I've found, over the years, that the majority of people who chastise others for intolerance are only tolerant of those who share their opinion.

Choban, was there not any media covering this meeting? The reason I ask is because there was no mention of threats being made during the meeting, it was the lawyer for the clinic that suggested there had been threats made that night, at his presser the next day. It was then, that the media seemed to run with that story.

There is never media covering public forums. We had death threats against us for a project but we went ahead with it. One or two doesnt speak for a majority. The government and the clinic should never have backed down. And Choban is well versed and open minded...and he is part of that community. Calling them all Yokels because of a few...is disgusting.

The only ageda involved here is some ignorant Edmontonian meat-puppet taking a cheap shot at Calgary. So two people get killed in Edmonton as a direct result of bad security at some drop-in centre but Calgary's a bunch of assholes for kicking an addict-servicing clinic out of an unsuitable residential area before anyone gets murdered? That's some twisted fucking logic right there but, havin dealt with them enough on job sites and at hockey games, twisted fucking logic is about all anyone ever gets out of Edmontonians in the first place (epecially when they've got their usual anti-Calgary hate-on running at full throttle).
