Action on climate change is going to have to happen sooner or later. I cant help but wonder though is why all these people who are screaming for action on climate change dont seem to be willing to provide any funding to address the problem. Alberta and Saskatchewan have the Enhance Energy carbon sequestration program ready to go. Problem being is theres no money and no customers for the program. At the moment both Provinces are experiencing the lowest level of activity weve seen in years in terms of drilling, that is going to be followed shortly by massive levels of unemployment when the rest of the industry such as completions, pipeline and facilities construction and other services start to feel the repercussions of the impact due to the short fall in drilling. If anyone in Canada qualifies for stimulus funding is will be these two provinces so why doesnt the Federal government start pumping money into the carbon sequestration program? Its shovel ready and it will address the immediate need to reduce GHG emissions and provide much needed jobs to replace those being lost due to the low gas prices. If all those Canadians who truly want action on climate change why dont they put their money where their mouth is and start supporting this program.
