We're getting some of that in the Staes. A number of July 4 celebrations are being cancelled, for us it'se largely budget cuts. In Canada it's other reasons, but it still is an instution and it not being held just leaves a sense of something important is missing.

You know this for a fact? I have seen many Toronto Canada Day celebrations and there is always a huge ammount of people there and tons of fireworks.

True enough, but people have no right to complain unless they are williing to contribute to the solution.
