Like how both this article and his lawyer don't mention any fact that Blackburn and his wife went into closed off routes or was it off trails?? One or the other either way going somewhere that they shouldn't have been.

He says he's filed the suit to prevent this from happening again. I believe %100 percent that is untrue, and like the article has pointed out he's in fact making it worse. I'm wonder if he can be countersued for putting himself at risk and using taxpayer resources.

Not sure if it's happened in Canada but I'm sure I've read where people have been sent the bill for their own rescue. In this case it may be a good idea,.

I've heard of that happening. They should send him a bill that matches what he's asking for.

"aleging they were negligent in not responding to the SOS signals he stamped in the snow begging for help last February."

Does he believe they saw the SOS, knew what it was and didn't repond?

I was just reading some old stories about this jackass. Apparently they went out without telling anyone where they were going, and without food and water. Sounds to me like another person who won't take responsibility and wants a payday.

According to an article I read, since there was no one reported missing, and these clowns didn't tell anyone they were hiking in the area, the police assumed the S.O.S.'s were old.

I wonder how much cash would make hime happy. Either way time to send these "into the wild" types the bill for rescue.

It is his fault, he went out of bounds and because of that his wife is dead. He just doesn't want to accept that and is trying to place the blame on someone else.

They went skiing out of bounds at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Don't know why people have to be morons and go off trail when they're not prepared, trained or ready to do so.

$1:
When asked if the court action might force search and rescue teams to reconsider their volunteer work, Wilhelm-Morden said, "That's what liability insurance is for."

Spoken like a true weasel of a lawyer. What happens when the teams can't afford the insurance anymore because the premiums have increased because idiots sue their rescuers because they start doing crap that they shouldn't be doing? I'd say it's people like her that give lawyers a bad name but I don't see how that's possible.
