Probably the best way to defend Hawaii from North Korea would be(In Generla Pattons words) arrange for Kim Jong-Ill to die for his country.

The only difference there is, the way things are going the dust they will be rebuilding is probably going to be highly radioactive.

Hiroshima is a bustling city today over 60 years after the bomb dropped.

Not all types of nukes are THAT radioactive. The big one are because not all the fuel burns but small sized and well built is almost radioactive free after some months.

Anyway, with the launching technology NK has, they have almost the same chances to hit vietnam than to hit hawaii, while aiming hawaii.

Hitting Hawaii with a missile would make NK a victim of their own success. The US's response would be devastating.

Lives are at stake, so I won't be wishing for this.

If the North Koreans hit Hawaii, they'd really piss off the Japanese.

I hate to be that guy, but submarines don't have the Aegis system, as it's an anti-air missle system used on cruisers.
