The cap and trade bill Obama supports is going before the senate for a vote soon. He needs it.

He needs it, because it's a way to bring in a tax without actually calling it a tax. This one is a massive money making tax for the government. There just not calling it a tax, so Obama can stay true to his election promise of no new taxes.

So suddenly this report appears. Curiously enough it's been around for some time in various, laughable forms. This is the first time they've felt desperate enough to try to present it to the public as credible.

This report is psuedoscientific fraud. It's purpose is to support the effort to bilk the American public with a cap and trade tax before they can figure out they're being had.

There's a Canadian connection too. Recently the Conservatives announced their intention to bring in a cap and trade bill. This is curious, because the Harper government's commitment to what the neo-comms are calling climate change has never been anything more than politically expedient lip service. So why now?

Once Obama brings in this cap and trade bill American industry won't be able to compete with countries that don't have it. Canada is America's largest trading partner. We've been hearing muffled threats from the Americans concerning what will happen if we don't do something similar to what they have planned concerning what they call "controlling climate change". Stuff like imposing tariffs on us. Harper has no choice. Obama's shown him the hoop, and he has to jump through it. Or at least he has no choice unless he grows a pair, which at this time does not seem likely. (You're hearing this from a Conservative supporter).

Ultimately what this means is eventual hardships on the populations of both countries far worse than anything you can expect from any speculative climatic warming.

Yep, that's an unbiased source.

So you're linking to a leftie site to bash a rightie sit. Gee, I wonder what they're saying. I know this. Those leftie climate sites have no right to the high ground. Desmog blog is financed by a convicted criminal. The Suzuki site is run by a public relations firm guy. RealClimate is financed by a public relations firm fronting for a Socialist activist.

The thing about Morano is if you actually clicked the link, you'd see what it is is a link to links from scientists and such. He likes to link. Here's one from Geophysicist Dr. David Deming, listing his complaints against the bogus report...

$1:
1. The new scare report issued by the Obama administration refers (reference list) to the work of Stephen H. Schneider six times. You will recall that Schneider is infamous for telling Discover magazine (October, 1989, p. 45-48) that "we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have...each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest."

2. There has been no sea level rise for the past three years.

3. Hurricane, typhoon, and tropical cyclone activity is at a 30-year low.

4. The satellite data (UAH MSU) currently show that mean global temperature is about the same as it was in June of 1979...no, if anything, it is LOWER.

5. Mean global sea ice is at the 20-year mean level, and the same as it was in 1979 when monitoring began.

6. Global "warming" is based almost entirely on the record from meteorological stations. Anthony Watt's survey of 1221 weather stations is now 70 percent complete, and shows that an astonishing 69 percent of these stations are likely to have serious errors, due to their being located near heat sources such as asphalt paving, air conditioning vents, etc.

I'm not sure I understand that. If each side knew THE truth (which I assume means whatever you subscribe to), why would there be any need of debate? Are you saying the best debate is the one where everybody believes what you believe? I imagine that would sound something like Bahhhhh.... followed by the incisive retort of Bahhhh...

Nope, I was just pointing out that your site was biased. My stance is that this is a science question that needs to be investigated by scientists. Al Gore and George Bush need to stay out of it.

Like you said, Al Gore knows the "TRUTH" and it appears that you do too.

I have posted this several times before and get no response from anyone.
http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final.pdf So, what does that prove...nothing. Nothing at all, except that most scientists appear to think global warming is happening and it is human caused. Does not make it true though. That's why we need more science done on the subject. It also means that the background noise needs to stop. It appears to be coming from people(left and right) who either have a political agenda or from young kids who were given a failing grade by some prof. on their journal research paper on global warming.

How very enlightening

I remember when you used to actually post and discuss on this site, now you're basically the watered down version of your former self. I don't know if it was the Obama election that contented you to life, or something, but sheesh.

Try telling that to my carrots.

Carrots contain betacarotine, which makes them orange. Humans metabolize betacarotine into Vitamin A. Overdoses of Vitamin A turn human skin orange, so, if you eat enough carrots, you'll resemble one. If you don't believe that, look at a photo of the Boston Marathon from the 70s when all the runners were drinkin' carrot juice...orange skin, the lot of them, like a goddamn Muppet marathon.
