Where does that leave BC if it's ruled that a provincial inquiry has no jurisdiction on a federal police dept?
BC and the RCMP need to seriously think over the results of this ruling.

Sets a dangerous precident if the province doesn't have the ability to hold the police force they hire accountable for their actions.

Thankfully, reason returned but the problem still exits. Time for Gordo to bring back the BC-PD.

This isn't an RCMP issue as much as a person issue. If the VPD had responded (they couldn’t have of course) the whole thing could have gone exactly the same way.

The four Mounties shouldn't have given any conflicting stories. They've tainted themselves in a way that may very well be irreprable. Had they just told the truth, giant Polish man was going beserk in an airport so we tasered him until he stopped...oh sweet Jesus he died, we're so sorry, this is a horrible horrible thing, things may have gone very differently afterwards.

I agree. What they said they did and what the video and witnesses said they did were often totally opposite, then they sat back and refused to address the matter. Killing the guy by accident could have been accepted as a tragic mistake but trying to purger and stall your way though the investigation is the real criminal part here. It didn't look good to have the RCMP #2 guy apologise while these 4 stooges were stonewalling either.

I think the only way the RCMP is going to clean this up is to fire these guys.

They should at least face charges of perjury. I have no issues with their actions right up to the point they ignored the guy dying on the floor and then circled their wagons and lied about it.

Where I’m going to disagree with the findings is that I think they’ll be found responsible for the death in some convoluted way.

Sorry man. Even if they didn't have conflicting stories - they lost me at '4 big Mounties with body armour, batons and guns threatened by Polish guy with an office stapler'.

I like how they joked about who got to tazer the guy when they came in then saw the only solution was tazering him just 30 seconds into the event.
