Just don't make it mandatory and I won't care much. Unlike all the french channels I don't want but can't do anything about.

Interesting concept. Almost like a Youtube News Network. Might work, might fail.

$1: "Anybody can submit content, but what gets on the air will be subject to our oversight." Sounds like Gore, and Canadian, lefty, bureaucrat sponsored propaganda made YouTube style. If they force this crap on us, they should slip Fox News into the cable package to make it fair. If they do that, I'll forgive them. I want Fox News , I just don't want to pay extra for it. I can surf through Gore TV pretty quick.

stemmer stemmer: Just what we need in Canada another biased tv news network.... What article did you read? This doesn't sound like something they'd put on basic. I think sandorski got it right. A "Youtube" for TV.

Dosen't sound too good. At first I thought it was going to be "all global warming- all the time".

Perhaps not "all global warming", but odds are good on it being biased, YouTube style, or whatever. I submit from the article again... $1: "what gets on the air will be subject to our oversight". That remark was from the CBC, of course, but would that be the same CBC that thought we needed to see An Inconvenient Truth about 6 times last year, but didn't think we should see anything like Apocalypse? No? or The Great Global Warming Swindle even once? And who exactly do they mean by "our" anyway?

The reporters who are being held by North Korea are both working for this network. If this is nothing more than ammature hour with a camera, they have little in the way of protection or even official recognition.

Amateur Porn, Idiots rambling, and many other possibilities require oversight into what gets Aired.

A 24 hour global warming hysteria channel is something I can do without...

sandorski sandorski: Why not wait and see?
Because this is the way the channel is described... $1: Current TV, the user-generated news network founded by Al Gore It screams bias, which is OK providing we get bias from the other side, as well. So far I get two mandatory 24 news channels in my basic cable package - CNN, and CBC. They're both liberal biased. I'll stop whining if they slip me Fox as well. If they don't, but they inflict Gore TV on me, I'll start getting suspicious. If, however, the Gore channel is pay TV, and not a mandatory watching requirement in my basic cable package, no problem.

Ridenrain, I have this channel on my DirecTV and they seem to be pretty popular and have lots of official recognition by the general public. It's not a news network, but more documentary. As for the 2 young women who are being held in North Korea, they were doing a documentary and strayed into North Korea. http://www.current.com

I say stick it in a package with Fox News and then sit back and watch the fireworks!
