The real question: will the garbage have to line up for five hours too?

Hey, if we can dump it south of the border, go for it. They don't want softwood, so give em garbage.
And its only US customs guards that have to smell it for the 5 hours. I really see no down side to this

No wonder BC was named the greenest province.
They export their garbage.

Well Toronto was dumping their garbage in Michigan until it became a political issue for residents of Michigan and they put a stop to it. Now Toronto is busy converting Southern Ontario into their dumping ground.

The same will happen in BC if smaller, poorer municipalities can be paid off to approve garbage dump zonings.

I remember when Vancouver wanted to load up the coal cars returning from the terminal with their garbage and send it back here to dump in one of the abandoned open pit mines right on the continental divide.

Right in the heart of the watershed,it would have affected the drinking water on both sides of the border.

Why don't we build incinerators? Or something. Seriously, a good shitload of garbage can be recycled, while food wastes can be turned into compost, what about the rest of the shit?

At camp in the arctic we burn everything and haul the ash out, same with metal, you cant leave any garbage.

We had a portable unit that fit on the lid of a 45 gallon drum. You can burn allmost anything with jet a

But metal, plastic, paper, and even food wastes can be recycled into something, and medical waste is burned, so why not burn what's left? Hell aren't there waste to energy incinerators? We should build a few of those in Sarnia or Hamilton.
