Gonzalo Boye is the lawyer that is trying to bring this case before a Spainish court.

Sounds like a waste of time that will lead to nothing. Just grandstanding.

They won't be able to extradite and it will just alienate an important ally of Spain.

I guess the Bush haters will stop at nothing.

Spain May Indict Gonzales, 5 Others for Torture?

We should indict Spain of the crimes and thefts of the Indians of Mexico, Central America and South America, for destroying their culture, their beliefs and stealing their riches and freedoms.

I am happy to see that you are now one of the poorest nations of the EU.

Ask the victims of the Madrid bombers how they feel about the Spain government threatening criminal action against the very people who tried to make the world a safer place.

Well, I guess that is a redundant question as the world saw how Spain gave in to the terrorist and like the yellow belly cowards they are.

It's debateable how sufe Bush and co. made the world safer from terrorism, and even if they had, they went about it using the methods of the Spanish Inquisition and of a host of brutal regimes which were in violation of both international law, US law, and most importantly the US Constitution.

Guantanamo is not on U.S. soil, therefore does not fall under U.S. laws.

How do interrogate a person who would cut your head off if he had the chance and thinks that he dies for his cause he's going to get 12 virgins?

I do not fully condone their actions, however if it saved lives...

Spanish has no say here. This is a political ploy that will have no substantial effect. Another reason why Americans in general don't care much about what Europe thinks.

How convenient! I guess laws don't matter if you break them somewhere else. I'm going to go assassinate Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev. No one will care, because I'm from Canada and they're in Russia, right?

You don't know what any of the people at Guantanamo Bay would do because most of them haven't been charged with anything!

Except that it's a US. military installation and the US Supreme Court has ruled that the laws of the US do apply to bast at Guantanamo. And if US bases don't count as US territoy in your book, then John McCain is less an American citizen than Obama.

Yeah, they only picked them up on the battlefield shooting at our soldiers or in terrorist training camps.

romanP, what should be done with Abdurahman Khadr, the young Canadian being held in Guantanamo Bay?
