Hate to say it but for once America is pointing fingers at Canada for a legit reason. They are right, we suck at protecting our envirement. Something needs to be changed.

I agree, ruining lakes for profit should not be allowed.Build a tailings pond or move on. Hopefully things change in this country.

The one applicaiton in BC so far failed (Kemess North wanted to use Duncan Lake as a tailings pond; feds said no). There's anotehr mining company wantiong top do teh same with Fish Lake near Billy's Puddle. Chances are that's not going anywheres with current commodity prices.

Canada is worse then the US when it comes to the environment. Yet we console ourselves that we are only 4% of the total problem and no matter what we do China and the US will be far worse then we could ever be but what sort of example is that?
