Good job, more Canadian cities should follow this example.
I lived on base in Calgary and the streets are all named for various places Canadians served in War or Peacekeeping.
The base is closed now and developed as Garrison Woods, but they kept the names.

It's like that in Griesbach Barracks (Edmonton) and the former CFB Chilliwack too.

Years ago Manitoba and Saskatchewan did the same with lakes and waterways. This is a good idea too.

One can't forget Winnipeg's Valour Road:
$1:
Valour Road is a street in the West End of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was formerly called Pine Street, but was renamed in 1925 to Valour Road in recognition of the courage of three young men who all lived on the 700 block of the street and served in the First World War. Corporal Leo Clarke, Sergeant-Major Frederick William Hall, Lieutenant Robert Shankland all received the Victoria Cross for acts of bravery during the war.
