I've edited this post because I commented rudely about the widow which in the end is only disrespectful to Constable Johnston. I apologize.

The law says it's her perogative to decide where her husband is buried.

Everyone who isn't family needs to butt out.

$1:
She decided she wanted Leo Johnston's remains moved to Regina because she believes he would have wanted to be buried in the city where he got his RCMP badge and where they fell in love.

And I am also sure that he would of wanted to rest in peace and not have his wife fighting with his family. *sigh*

I think it's the family fighting with the wife.

Same thing, is it not?

Either way, it shouldn't even be an argument. He should be laid to rest for all eternity where he wanted to rest.

No it's not. The parents are fighting her to stop her from doing what she is legally entitled to do. I understand their pain but to call her a bitch is pretty low.

You're right. It is low. Not because it's disrespectful to her. Because it's disrespectful to him. My opinion of her stays the same. I find her actions heartless. But I've come back today to edit my first post and apologize for disrespecting a good man by commenting rudely about his wife.

This is a woman who lost her husband. Presumably they were fairly newly wed. All she wants to do is respect his legacy by burying him in the official RCMP gravesite. Which also happens to be in the city they fell in love in. Obviously this holds a great deal of importance for her and will help ease her loss. Why anyone would hold hostility towards her for this is beyond me.

I think what the woman is doing for her husband is to honor his memory. The man was a Canadian first and foremost and the bullcrap about having to segregate him with his ancestors is just that, bullcrap. There are Native Americans buried at Arlington with their comrades in arms because they sacrificed and they deserve to be honored. This man paid for his place with the heroes of Canada and his wife honors him by doing this for his memory. And the parents were totally off the reservation trying to abrogate her rights as the man's wife.
