Before I go any further, let me say that I enjoy the CFL. I find the Grey Cup usually a more exciting game than the "SuperBore" down south. But I do have a definite problem with the playoffs this year, and it might explain why so many here in the east don't watch the CFL.

Here goes, how in the fuck can the Eastern semi-final be decided by an Edmonton-Winnipeg matchup? 8O Does anyone in the upper echelon of the CFL not understand Canadian geography? I mean, seriously, Edmonton and Winnipeg! Absolutely fucking ridiculous. Potentially we could see either BC or Calgary versus Edmonton in the Grey Cup. Wow, what an East-West matchup that would be.

Oh, congratulations BC. You have earned the opportunity to be spanked by Calgary! 8)

WDHIII WDHIII:
Well I think it stems from all those years when teams from the West would finish the season with a winning record and STILL miss the playoffs while some teams makin the "show" in the East were well under .500

If ya look at THIS years standings Toronto would have made it to the playoffs @ 4 - 14 while Edmonton would have missed with a 10 - 8 record.

Have to agree with ya... it doesnt make much sense when yur lookin at a map but an ALL WEST GREY CUP could be kinda kule and it sorta, as the CFL puts it "ensures that the two best teams play in the final game"

Not sure what it would do for the ratings tho...

After moving back east I find a huge difference of opinion regarding the CFL. Here, most of the football talk revolves around the NFL. Any talk of the CFL is met with derision. Back out west, football talk is equally split between CFL and NFL.

Agreed an all-west final would be great for the west but deadly for any ratings. :?

Really? Strange... do you think its because of the whole Bills/Toronto/possible NFL team talk or maybe cause over the past ten years the East has only won twice ;-)

Hey an Monteal/Calgary final would suit me JUST fine too

I think it's a bit of both reasons. Plus the added idea of anything supported by the west must be treated as suspect in the east. 8O

The support in Montreal is based on a. Having a very good team, and b. Moving to a smaller stadium giving the impression of a large fan base!

2Cdo, you got to acknowledge that Edmonton still has to go through MTL before making it to the Grey Cup.

Not wanting to sound arrogant, but the Alouettes appear to be unbeatable at this point. Oh ok, that is arrogant. ROTFL

Kidding around, knew it that the Stampeders were in the Western Finals. Although, it was more about the Lions at the time since they have a very good team. The Alouettes always seems to have a hard time vs the Lions.

The cross over rule is a better solution than what was in place previously.

I don't mind it, but it even if it gives shitty clubs like the Eskimo's a chance when they don't really deserve it.
