Euhmmmm, no.

He could have walked in 3 minutes earlier... Purchases are not made if it is not registered. Too bad... Loto Quebec has a case here, imho...

(although, if I was Loto Quebec, I would have settled. I would not want this publicity...)

Well we'll see how this progresses if he takes it to court, but I think that Loto Quebec should ensure that its machines cannot print tickets that it will later deem invalid. I'm sure it could be done.

The ticket wasn't invalid - it was for the next draw.

Ah. If that's the case then no, he's not won anything. Lotto machines in Alberta at least used to shut down and not process anything after 6PM at all, this draw or next. Perhaps that's changed, I'm not in the habit of buyiong tickets at all, let alone in the evening. But if he got a ticket for next week's draw with this week's winning numbers, he's SOL.

So sad, too bad. Next time buy your tickets well before the deadline.

Yeah, that life. I feel bad for the guy somewhat, because hey, who wouldn't feel like they just got shafted in that situation?

I wonder though if he had got his ticket in under the deadline would the machine have produced those numbers anyway?
Do they reset after each draw, or do they just go indefinately kicking out random numbers?

If it wasn't a winning combo it would not have been an issue, buy your tickets early dumbass, I hate walking into a store 5 minutes before the deadline time and seing 50 people in a scramble to buy their tickets, All I want is a jug of milk.

No sympathy for this guy. A deadline is a deadline. If he missed it, well, too bad sucker, maybe the same numbers will come up twice in a row.
