This reminds me of when Dion said in the debate where 14 year old murders should not be treated so harshly.

One reason I won't vote Liberal.

Both drivers were travelling between 80 and 140 km/h on Mount Pleasant Rd. in their parents' Mercedes Benz vehicles. Ryazanov's vehicle crashed into Khan's taxi at 119 km/h. Khan was travelling at 20 km/h.

The two drivers were seen "switching from one lane to another" over 1.5 km between Bloor St. and St. Clair Ave.

And they cannot prove beyond a reaonable dout that they were racing???
What a Joke.

I've done that without racing. So no they can't.

4 years to 7.. still not enough.

as a priveledge, that should be revoked permanently.

*EDIT* tricks, if you are doing it on your own, you might be right.

However, if you are with someone else, it is racing, even if you havent declared
it to be so.

Not really. Again. I've done it with a buddy, it was like 2 in the morning. No one on the road. And I wasn't trying to pass him. I just stayed right behind him. So no, it's not always racing. You can't blanket it.

More Liberal appointed judges are needed. This ruling was a complete joke.

Agreed. They should be punished far more than they were.

Well, unless I'm sorely mistaken the government currently in power is Conservative, and has been for the last couple of years.

The problem with Conservatives is that they talk a lot about "responsibility" (such as, criminals should be responsible for their crimes), but they don't actually take any responsibility for what happens under their watch. They, like the criminals using the system, are constantly blaming every one else.

Do you mean the street racing law that ontario has already enacted?

Given that the majority of street racing is being done by young kids completely unfazed or undetterred by laws I doubt anything you could possibly put forth would make the slightest bit of difference.

Just like Harper all you do is attack others and never ever have a solution of your own.

How do you know they are Liberal appointed or that a conservative appointed judge would do anything else.

Should they be shot? Jailed for life? While the death was tragic and they should face a sentence that will hopefully ensure they never do this again the sentence ruling I read dealt with why a lengthy jail term wasn't appropriate. The idea isn't to destroy any chance they have of making a decent life for themselves or creating another career criminal.

Rehab first with adequate retribution. Dishing out lengthy jail terms won't now nor ever prevent young people from making the same mistakes that every other generation makes. I recall my friends and I getting my car up to 88 mph just like back to the future when I was in highschool. I certainly gave no thought to the laws or the danger I was putting us in.
