I have lost interest in this election campaign since it has become nothing short of a 'Jerry Springer' episode. None of the parties has a particularly strong platform. Just more of the 'same old, same old'. Nothing is going to change for us common folks. Except more taxes. We pay thosands and grudgingly 'they' hand us back pennies in cuts! To that end, all the parties are guilty of 'mudslinging'. None of them really wants the 'top job' as nothing for them would really change either. They already have a great thing going now. Excellent pay and benefits, no heavy lifting, golden handshake when they 'ride off into the sunset', and a pension plan that you and I are paying for, but can only dream about!
Of course they all have to make ' the appropriate noises' lest their own party gives them the boot! Other than that, they will each 'carry on' until they have bled us dry to their own personal benefit ($$$$$), and then 'gracefully' retire!

I always discount anything with the words "nude" and "BC" in them. If it were "nude" and "Ontario" that would grab my attention. But in BC, that's par for the course.

Not sure where the NDP get their candidates, but I've noticed here that a lot of the election signs around these parts say Jack Layton, with the candidates name much less conspicuous. Apparently nobody would ever vote for the federal candidates themselves, and the party relies on Jack to get votes.

That's kind of funny, Blue Nose, because it wasn't that long ago that parliament was voting on who the best parliamentarians are, and they handed out the prizes to NDP MPs.

The party does rely on Layton to get votes. His leadership numbers are good and his negatives are reasonable. As party leader, he's the most likely to be seen in the media. Most of the policies are related to him in people's minds. Under those circumstances you would expect them to lean on his name a bit as part of the overall strategy.

I'm not saying that's universal, but if I do see that, I read it as the candidate themselves isn't worth voting for. As someone who bases their vote on the local candidate, it's a negative point for me.

They do that here too, putting up Jack Layton signs. I've always suspected it's just because the NDP don't have quite the same resources as the Liberals or Conservatives, and so they just order up a bunch of Jack Layton signs cheap instead of doing more expensive, small runs for the riding candidates. The Green party has the same issue, only they go through leaders much faster so all you see is "Green Party" signs.
