Canadians have spent over two thousand million dollars on gun registration that the former federal Liberals and others said would stop this kind of thing from happening. Millions continue to be spent on this nonsense. It was a red herring used to get votes and support. Those millions of dollars should have been instead spent on building shelters for women and for hiring more police and for educating people. Had this woman had a place to go to she might still be alive.

I'm suprised to hear you say that..

I'm guessing this was another example of east indian domestic violence. All the shelters and protection won't matter if the women who are in danger don't seek out that help to begin with.

registration by the law abiding will and has had NO effect on gun violence or violent crime.

PERIOD

we have 10 years and 2 billion to PROVE that!!!

CRIMINALS WILL NOT OBEY THE LAWS so why infringe on the rights of those tho do when the cost is SO high and the affect is so little?

I know I'm not suppose to, but do you think when I returned to Canada from Texas I just gave up my guns.

I always had a gun handy, in the car, driving Taxi in LA for 2 years under the seat.

I can't help but think just how much we missed the boat by, when we went the multicultural society route instead of a melting pot of immigrants.

These people aren't new immigrants and have been here for generations, yet they still cling to the values, ethics and morals of their country of origin, while espousing their love of Canada.

Of course they love Canada, where else can you keep your archaic rituals, values and morals, while being protected by a flawed charter of rights and freedoms?

It's time someone woke up and smelt the coffee. Quite a few of these people aren't going to change their attitudes and actions just because they live in Canada. It's time we had a real good look at our immigration policy and the charter that gives those who refuse to assimilate, impunity from the morals of Canadian Society.

If we do that, with a little luck, maybe within a hundred years or so we might just assimilate them into Canadian Society instead of having them continue living their lives exactly like they did in the motherland.

I'd like to see a dedicated effort by the CBC or the media to get at these women and inform them that they have rights aside from their family and husbands in this country. Why does the "womans lib" group wimp out when they face religions other that christianity?
Shock: Could we somehow seek to educate these woman without using racial profilling? lol.

Thank PET and his group of useless idiots of the day that allowed this to happen to Canada. The only thing I can think is they were in a perpetual state of high from mind altering dugs (LSD, Coke) when they penned the policies that put Canada into the UN_lite abyss we are in today.
