Hold on, the article is about Omar Khadr, a young "Canadian" held in Guantanamo and subject to sleep deprivation and other tortures.

I understand your hurt because some editor had the AUDACITY to criticise your precious Stevie Harper, but back to the facts or opinions about Omar Khadr.

Bloody Harperits

I don't think Harper attaches much significance to being a Canadian citizen.

Zip, I usually don't comment on such threads, nor do I want to argue with you.

It's all a matter of opinion, but this boy is no Canadian citizen, IMO. More like a traitor.

What the Hell. Must of hit something on the browser..

http://416-777-7777.com/article/458422

I know his family have become very agitated with Canada, and very anti-Canadian, but he was just a kid and not very mature at the time.

He does not need a prison, more of a psychologist and metal help.

Exactly.. these are selected letters about the article.
In fact, if we troll down a little further, we see not everyone is drinking the Kool-aid.

$1:
Khadr is not a child soldier, not a poor boy. He is a murderer. He killed a medic who wanted to attend to wounded after fighting was over. What the value this person present for Canada. He and his family hate Canada. Stop wining. It is a shame on media.

$1:
The bleeding hearts who defend this killer, terrorist, traitor. You are all quick to blame Harper but not the Liberals. Have any of you seen the khadr severed hands/feet photo? I was born here and when i was 15 i was holding a hockey stick and wearing a hockey jeresy, not wearing a Taliban outfit and holding severed body parts. Wake up people.

$1:
If the crimes were committed away from Canadian soil in another sovereign nation, why is he entitled to Canadian justice? I don't understand why Canadians are so up in arms over how little Omar has been treated while on a Jihad to kill people and at the same time want to "lock up and throw away the key" a fellow Canadian for murder because someone died as a result of a road rage incident. Such hypocrisy.

The two are not mutually exclusive. He is definitely a Canadian citizen, and probably a traitor. As he is a Canadian citizen, he should be afforded the rights of one, otherwise it means nothing.

Oh poor thing, sleep deprived eh?
Better than the medic he chucked a grenade at, he's 'life deprived'.

Tritium, we have guys out in Afghanistan right now, being shot at and killed yet you support a supposed 'Canadian' who went to the same place to kill our allies doing the same job we are doing?
I'm betting there are a few more 'Canadians' from Mississauga and Brampton who are out in the 'Stan as we speak planting IED's and trying to kill CF troops in the name of Allah.

Time we asked some loyalty from the masses who settle in Canada. Killing our allies or our guys is not very Canadian, despite the cult of multicult.

I like the fact that the Canadian government stepped up and gave aid to Brenda Martin who was in prision in Mexico.

But a find an growing pattern when it concerns citizens being held by the United States.

Either the Canadian government is afraid to fight for rights of Canadians against the USA, or they just don't give a shit?

If a Canadian citizen is shooting at Canadian toops bring him home to Canada and set a date for trial.

If found guilty, a good hanging.

However, try to take into consideration the kids age. He's a mess up kid and here in Canada we give minors (no matter how sick the offense) a second chance.
