Hey I've fired over a dozen people in 10 years who thought their job was to play on MSN (and now Facebook) on the front desk terminal and turn their backs on customers walking in.
I would estimate 80% of teen employees feel entitled to install MSN. or Yahoo on their work terminal, the library's computer, the school's computer, a complete stranger's computer.
The front desk now runs Ubuntu and I see they download WLinstaller.exe and Yahoo.exe over and over and over because I delete them every morning. They're too fucking stupid to figure out what Pidgin is, and too fucking lazy to even click it and find out.
Keep any of them beyond their wage subsidy? .... LOL

Where I work it seems that everyone also thinks it's their right to install every sort of network threat known to man. I agree with you fully and admire your point of view about the teenagers.

The best one I got from the local high school lately: didn't even dawn on her that it may not be the smartest thing skip last period and go swimming, then show up for work in a wet bathing suit.
Her tits popped clean out when she bent to load paper in the copier and stood up again.
Of course I didn't fire her.
Had to call her at home and tell her to get over her embarrassment quickly, and come back. There were crowds of guys wanting to copy their grad books next day.....

Sorry to burst everyones bubble but the problem isnt limited to teenagers....there are plenty of adults that try to spend at least half there shift on FB or MSN...and download everything on computers with sensitive info.

You're right, the last employee I warned was 52.
Even had a business partner that degenerated into 6 mos of MSN hunting for a new loser to live with until we forced her out.
And I can tell you about an entire Band Office that's grouchy and miserable now they're completely networked and MSN, Yahoo, Facebook, YouTube, LimeWire etc is blocked at the Cisco router.....
