"The entire opposing team has been suspended indefinitely. "

Good. There must be ZERO tolerance for this kind of violence. I hope they bring the kids involved up on charges, too.

Where were the parents coaches and officals of the offending team at the time? Why was this team hanging around after the game with the sole intention of taunting the losing side?
What ever happened to good sportsmanship?
Any involved players should be banned from all sporting teams city wide.

This is a good point. When the players are under 18, the coach should stick around if for no other reason than to make sure every player leaves safely. Clearly that's what this dad was doing. The coach for the other team should be barred from coaching forever for not being present to try to prevent this. Heads must roll.

Sportsmanship is one thing. Poor sportsmanship is a shame, but this is well beyond poor sportsmanship. This is criminal.

Its funny that they all ran away. Its not like they don't know who's on the team.

They're pretty stupid.

Its assault and battery, so what, that's 4 hours of community service?

It's a bit more than four hours of community service.
Think criminal record for life.
Loss of any security clearances.
You're bonded, right, Toro? Would you lose this if convicted of assault?
Maybe one is a lawyer - he might be disbarred.
But youre' right, they are stupid.

It was a U-18 team so they're all minors (unless any of them were ringers). Therefore no permanent consequences.
