That is a possibility. Earth-quakes in Alaska have disturbed Cascade volcanos. This conceivably could trigger "The Yellowsone Supervolcano". That is a scary prospect----long dormant and overdue----It's last great eruption 450 million years BP nearly exterminated early man.
Losing california is a minor consideration by comparison.
