I don't think it matters...

The first commercial oil well drilled in North America was in Oil Springs, Ontario, Canada in 1858.

By 1910, significant oil fields had been discovered in Canada, specifically, in the province of Ontario.

2008, still pumping...and celebrating 150 years of commercial oil production in Lambton County, Ontario.

Great news. This should help in reducing our dependence on unfriendly countries for oil.
