No different from any other employer doing the same. And that applies to the internet as a whole, not just Facebook. You should never put stuff that you don't want the world to have or know about on the internet.

I also agree with the warnings.
I've got a couple military people in my Facebook friends, and my account's already been hacked once. Luckily they weren't looking to do anything more sinister than change around some of my profile shit.

I agree with the warnings. You don't want to post personal info online because it can be used against you, your unit, or maybe even your family.

Couldn't agree more with the warning. I have "counselled" a few buddies already about specific information that should not be an any open forum. Some of this info has included their location and mailing address. Along with personal photos on their home page of their wife and children in one case! 8O

Despite the airheads objection to censorship--"loose lips sink ships."
Starting in WW1, all outgoing mail from a combat theatre was censored. Many folks here at hame received letters which had been censored, portions removed with a razor blade. I recall one neighbour, recounting how her husband, overseas, was reprimanded for writing detailed accounts of D-Day preparations. It is difficult to rationalize such stupidity....she couldn't....
