When I told the people at the post office that it would be a month before I checked my mail they stopped putting junk mail in the box.Been 2 years now.

I have my doubts it'll work. We use the multi superboxes in our neighborhood. On more than one occasion the letter carrier drives away with the door left open and every body's mail free for the pickins!

Too busy listening to his I-pod to check the door I guess.....I'm sure the junk mail will continue.

I actually went to the Canada Post outlet a few years ago and complained.
They said that if you request it, you won't get any junk mail.
I haven't had any since.
They probably don't advertise this because they make money from it.

Atleast they will stop it...

I guess Canada Post is much like those Spam Porn e-mails with that little link at the bottom of the bloody e-mail hidden as well as possible that will discontinue the spam permanently. lol

You should probably stay off the porn sites , that will stop them

Canada Post is under contract by the mailers of this junk mail so they have to deliver it.That is the new directive.A legal address will probably keep getting the junk

The junk mail is now say 20% of Canada Post's revenue

There are different types of junk mail, but the bottom line is that a new directive is to deliver all junk mail even if the name on the address is different "as long as no change of address has been filed"

A carrier in Northern B.C was suspended for not delivering 1 piece of junk mail

Why would you stop junk mail in the winter? I'm thinking you're getting people to deliver free BTU's to you at their expence. :D

Did the recipient leave notice they didn't want to receive junk mail?

Mail in question was addressed admail/bulk/Most of this is junked unless the company guarrentees the return postage.
Another form is publications, but all CDN pubs are returned

The fylers are another matter which I'm told you can ask to stop. All these companies have to do is put an address label on them and they will have to be delivered

Oh anybody here get mail from say a charity, and it includes a denomination of money on the outside of that envelope.Ask that charity why they are throwing money away.
Like I said if its addressed admail or bulk, and they do not guarrentee the postage for return its junked.Who gets the money then?
