If that's true, that is one of the most hard core pranksters EVER.

That's about as fully as suprising a cop with a pellet gun.
No doubt had tey all been machine gunned to death, the folks who find it funny would have been attacking America again.

This is why any incident that does take place there needs a few days of a cooling off before action takes place. Too many people wanting to pull the trigger so bad.

OMG I can't believe it when I read this story. I remember having to listen to Filipino Money on the VHF radio when I was Officer of the Watch during my two gulf tours. The guy seemed to be on 24 hours a day, and he was quite rude whenever my female Naval Communicators went on Ch 16 to hail a vessel. I can't believe the moron would pull shit like that though. I imagine after this his days are numbered.

After the Cole attack no one in their right mind should be closing on a US warship without expecting live weapons to be trained on them. Part of the blame for the incident is in how the Iranians approached the US ships. They came at them at high speed and broadside to them when courtesy demands that they close to a parallel course without aiming their bows directly at the ships they wish to ID.

Aiming your bow at another ship is the maritime equivalent of aiming a gun at them. It is considered a hostile act all on its own.

And kindly set aside your anti-American animus for a moment because it is a hostile act no matter who they do it to.

For sure, when directly threatened like they were they need to respond. It's the aftermath, especially the rhetoric, that needs to be toned down afterwards. More importantly though, the Public needs to not jump to the same conclusions that are given to them by the Government/Military, especially with the current Admin.

Because it's all fun and games until you threaten or screw with the Yanks. Then they take it personally.

Yep, no doubt Mr. Monkey will now become the favoured hobby of the NSA. They'll be voice matching him and monitoring signals *forever* until they get a bead on him. I almost feel sorry for the guy as this was no doubt just a very, very stupid prank that he will pay dearly for.

Yeah, he'll wind up in Abu Ghraib with panties on his head, for sure. Furious George doesn't like to be made to look stupid. Turns out the Pentagon tampered wiht the video they released as well--oh, what a surprise.

three three:
If you read the article, they are suggesting it is more than one person, in shifts.

More than a 'prank' I would say.

They say the guy's English was forced. Waitaminnit--has anyone seen Chretien lately?
