.. and if the US or the British opened fire and sank those little boats, you can bet the same, predictable people would be in here crying about "American arrogance" or how this was another illegal act of agression.

This would have been a perfect chance to try out the new area denial "heat ray".

You know why that happens now? Because Bush and co. have absolutely zero credibility anymore with the public. If they hadn't started the war in Iraq based on a pack of lies and if they wouldn't continue acting all tough towards Iran to the point where a lot of "right" blogs have a constant hard on for war with Iran, then maybe a lot of people wouldn't think that this incident would be used to start another war with Iran that the US couldn't win.

If the tables were turned, it would be called a "Show of Force". I'd join with you guys if this happened outside of Seattle, but it didn't.

During the reign of the benevolent dictator (Chretien) those were Canadian warships doing the blocade. Would you be just as forgiving if those were our people being put at risk?

Canada hasn't been pushing the Iranians. So I seriously doubt they would push back.

Were the British pushing Iran so hard that they were "forced" to retaliate by capturing 15 British Sailors?
Of course not. The Iranians wanted to scare the British population so people like you would come out of the woodwork and demand we leave. If Canadians were still there, we'd be just as vulnerable to this sort of crap, and many of the opinions on this forum give them hope.

That would explain the Iranian P3 that buzzed us almost everyday for four months right? And that was four years ago.

I was going to say don't forget that HMCS Charlottetown is presently in the PG as part of the USS Harry S Truman Battle Group, but I suspect the vast majority of Canadians don't even know they are there.

News flash sandorski, places like Iran don't see us ,as Canadians, as being anything more than Westerners. For them, a Canuck is a Yank is a Brit.
