Well that's just great. Millionaire sports celebrities are going to be an example to us everyday folks.

They're buying carbon credits. And that does exactly WHAT to prevent global warming?

The money will support wind energy in Madagascar, biomass energy in India and a hydroelectric project in Indonesia, the foundation says. These clean energy projects have been chosen by the foundation and meet the so-called gold standard for carbon offsets.

AND exactly HOW is this helping to reduce C02 emissions?

This is NOTHING to do about pollution. It's all about wealth redistribution.

AND Eric Lindros was one of the brainchilds of this scheme? I guess he MUST be suffering brain damage after all those on ice concussions...

Will these projects replace existing CO2 emmiting power generation? Or just ensure that any new power projects are cleaner. If they aren't replacing anything than I'd guess the same amount of GG's are being emmited?

What's utterly hilarious is in the USA windfarms are now being condemned for their environmental impact and for the windmills having a sizable carbon footprint due to to energy needed to manufacture, build and maintain them.

If the NHL really wanted to make a statement they'd play only on natural ice and forego the vast amounts of energy required to chill large swaths of ice inside covered and heated arenas.
