While Pakistan's political scene can get very excited, I severely doubt that Musharraf could inspire a suicide bomber. Al Qaida and the Taliban are known to have tried suicide bombers against Bhutto before. It would appear that Musharraf had deployed in vain extremely heavy security. Getting any credible accusations of Musharraf involvement will require a massive spin....even in Pakistan.

Assuming an even split of support for the 3 candidates.....the terrorists have succeeded in alienating 2/3 of popular support. Musharraf now has carte blanc to cleanse Pakistan including the tribal areas with little or no criticism.

It is indeed a poor wind that does nobody any good.

Any difficulties Musharraf had with killing off the Taliban & etc. in Pakistan will be resolved now.

And this is a great tragedy for Pakistan. I sincerely hope they do not end up in a civil war over this.

Benazir Bhutto could, as we say in French, have been the "pierre angulaire" of any effort to stabilize Pakistan. What we'll get instead is even more instability.

agree with other comments and for the western world there is little good out of this or little good for pakistan area itself .

more unstability , more violence and less chance a new credible pm is elected , a new pm might still be elected but not nearly as well known or credible one will be found.

It is truely sad that this is my first post on cka. I didn't always agree with her politicas but I always admired her. I hope that People's Party will back what needs to be done here and understand that the major threat to Pakistan is al qaeda and not musharaf.

I could understand Afghans or Arabs getting lynched.......ME embassies stoned/burned but throwing stones at cars and rioting?????
