At least they are up front about it.

A Canadian doctor wanted in Florida for a hit-and -run got home. Canada resisted extradition and a pair of Florida bounty hunters grabbed him and collected a reward. Florida prosecuted the doctor and refused to release him. Canada extradited the bounty hunters for kidnapping and everyone was happy except the doctor and the bounty hunters.

Isn't this the same kind of idiocy that started the war of 1812? And nearly started another one in 1860. Not that it would now, but I could see it damaging relations with allies.

No wonder US allies are growing more reticient in helping the US when it says stupid shit like this...

If officials from another country are caught taking one of our citizens they should be sent to prison. Secondly if they grap one of ours we or Britain or whoever should take American hostages and imprison them for the same length of time they are sentenced for in America.
Guilty or not throw them in jail

Not exactly, as I recall. The Brits were kidnapping US Citizens, then forcing them into Military Service, in 1812. IIRC

HEE HEE HAW HAW

You fell for 19th century american propaganda.

The RN impressment of US sailors was not a causus bellum....an iritation perhaps.

Even the RN interdiction of american shipping (interferring with the transatlantic slave-trade) was merely an irritation.

Britain had been preoccupied for 2 decades in the Napoleonic Wars. The Americans exploited the opportunity and attempted to seize Canada which was lightly garrisoned.

I think it would cause a logistical nightmare for the US. Carrying all those extra teapots and having to stop the war for tea each day, will cost the taxpayers dearly

From personal experience, the Brits can boil a kettle faster than the Italians can get the water boiling to make Pasta.....no shit.
