Recruitment firm Westaff - which supplies hundreds of Santas across the country - has told its trainees that the "ho ho ho" phrase could frighten children and could even be derogatory to women.

Lots of kids are terrified of Santa, but probably because of the beard, the fact he's a stranger or they're over-tired from shopping all day. I doubt any of them were frightened by the Ho Ho Ho.

As for being derogatory to women - has any actual woman made a complaint?

I have. We have a number of asian people where I work whose last name is Ho. I wrote teh following to the BC Humna Rights Commission:

i am so happy i am not a kid these days.

i am so happy that when i was growing up, we had xmas decorations in school, a christmas play, and none of this pc bullshit.

Christmas was Christmas, Santa was Santa, he said "ho ho ho",and that was it.

Man, I've got this kick ass video of me when I was like, 3 or 4, in my X-mas play thingy, and I've got my kilt on with a set of bag pipes. Yeah, I was a pimp way back when.
