Shit, the worst crime an EFL teacher (Canadian) has been accused of here in Taiwan is smuggling in some E, pot and small amounts of coke. One American is under suspicion for murder, for the recent slaying of a local employment broker. However, his flip girlfriend took the whole rap for him. It was over money. You just don't hear about pedophilia in the other major areas where there are large numbers of ESL instructors (Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong).
