Leader of Poland's ruling party calls for NATO "peacekeeping mission" in Ukraine.

After meeting with Zelensky, Jaroslaw Kaczynski said the force of international troops should "operate on Ukrainian territory."

My take: He's advocating WW3.

Time and time again I am seeing 'peacekeeping' and 'no-fly' being touted as viable solutions here. All that is doing is escalating to WW3.

A hybrid approach of ARMING the Ukrainians while strangling the Russian economy with sanctions will work, given time. We don't need to send troops, volunteers are enough. Food, ammo and intel THAT's what we can do.

Conventionally I would concur. Time for non-linear thinking.

We can't even get a pipeline, or any other major project that is clearly in the national interest, built without being at each others throats. Expecting Canada to become a world leader in something as significant or concrete like rebuilding our military into a significant force, (that can actually contribute in a meaningful way during a crisis) would probably be far too much to ever expect from our current generations of politician & citizens. All we're really good at anymore in world events is in virtue signaling and politically-correct scolding. We simply aren't the sort of people anymore who were once able to go full-bore ground & pound like we did in the world wars. And we likely never be that way again, both to the detriment of those we should be helping and to ourselves as well.

This is a time of war. Decorum is out the window. Survival is sacrosanct.

We had the draft to make up for manpower shortfalls. Quebec didn't agree with it at the time but we did it anyway. National will is a thing and in times of war can move mountains.

S-300PMU

This is why a no-fly isn't viable. They can hit targets while based in Russia, meanwhile the bulk of Russian bombardment is land based arty. A no fly won't do a thing about that.

It isn't enough. Russia will win eventually without a no-fly zone. And we have to get ready for troops on the ground sooner or later. It's just the way it is, or Ukraine perishes in the exact same way Poland did in 1939.
