It's not my fault you didn't bother to read the article at the end of the link and just decided to shit-post.

It very clearly explains how it is a tactic that would get instant attention in Beijing (and probably Washington too), because lots of air cargo routes between the two countries fly over the poles to save fuel and time. Sure, they could adjust routes, but it would take time and money and affect the competiveness of Chinese goods.
